These players are a motivation to all of us on how to play the beautiful game. Dominic and Murtala cleaned up their bracket matches up to the final, so they deserve their accolades thus far. As both opponents try to break the record as the 2026 Men's WAEP tennis tournament title, but as we all know, there's always going to be one winner.

Let's get the finals started 💪🏾... it's been a long, wet and sweaty ride to this D-day. Very well anticipated, we are pumped to see who takes this men's single finals. Is it going to be club's no.1 or club's no.2 seed 🔥

This was a well placed bracket match - a game of seeded players 👏🏾. Both dragged the points out of each other and the energy out of the net sprints. It got to a point we observers thought this was a rally lol. Very well played Joshua and Dominic. Dominic took the win 🏆

The Quarter-Finals round up

Confidence and Mukhtar took on DBX and Gimba to conclude the men's doubles semi-finals. A very fun watch this game was. The gist is 3 players on the court were labeled handicapped leaving only Gimba as the pivotal player. Slices, topsins and smashes rained all over the court 😂. Both sets went to edge cases but at the end of it all. DBX and Gimba took the win. Congrats to all players for showing us how fun tennis could be if you play unselfish 👏🏾.

Matchup of club OGs

This wasn't the first doubles of the day yet it was a real match opener to the men doubles - the pairing were of titans on but ends and it showed in the point rally. The doubles were played at half sets each of 4 points winner or best of 2 if tied at 3. These players didn't even mind that and went all or nothing lol. Up to set 3 super tie break. You don't learn class 🤌🏽

How fast can you go?

This match had many question marks to it 🤔. I personally can't even story tell to this. In short Dominic ran off from the first love-love. All we could hope for watching this game was that Mukhtar doesn't hurt his back.

Tennis is a game of passion 👏🏾.

It was a beautiful game, filled with energy, passion, twists, drama and of course a winner. Confidence Jackmay put his all in his game despite getting an injury early in the game he persevered till the end. Sadly it was not enough as he lost to his opponent who was the better man today. However, as you can from the picture, he handles losses easily and is ready for his doubles match later.

Back on track everyone 🤙🏾

After 2 straight days of heavy to light downpour on the island rendering a good bunch of or tournament matches useless -finally mother nature has smiled down on we tennis fanatics. We now have clear skies and the courts dried/cleaned up to recommence the tournament. Vamos 🙌🏾🫂!!

A befitting match to wrap up the round of 16 playoff. Both players are uncs but hit the court with the young blood vibes. A very fun watch. Chinedu ran off with the game at 2nd set and never looked back but OZ showed class all through. Look forward to seeing him play doubles.

Drama on the court 😂

Mukhtar came into this match first off complaining he got back cramps, but a bunch of us took it as banter. A few points into their 2nd set, Mukhtar lay flat on his back, calling out for help with first aid... it wasn't serious, thankfully and right after, coach Patrick intervened; the game resumed. We all should always prioritise our health even when on the court. Keep the fire going 🙌🏾

This was a match against admirers. Dominic nevertheless took the game by its teeth once Emmanuel came in hard on the first set.
